Are we heading in the right direction?

Angus Wilson: Recently there’s been a flurry of satellite navigation stories about lorry drivers getting wedged into narrow lanes and cars stuck in a full-flowing ford. I heard a suggestion that ‘deer crossing’ warnings could be shown on sat-nav systems. My local one-way ring road is about to be made bi-directional but, like the M6 Toll Road, it will not appear on my old system.
